April 14, 2017 - Native American Studies

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a full-time student. NAS Majors can be NATV-US or NATV-UC. NAS Minor must be declared with current major advisor.
  • LoboWeb must show NATV Major or Minor status.
  • All students must have taken a minimum of two (2) NATV courses and have a 2.75 GPA
    (in NATV courses). All students must be making satisfactory academic progress towards graduation
  • Making satisfactory academic progress towards graduation

Application includes:

  • 2017-2018 NAS Academic Scholarship Application Form
  • Short Essay (see app for details)
  • Reference Letter by non-NAS staff/faculty with contact information

April 28, 2017 - AISS Summer General Scholarship - UG/GR

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

  • A comprehensive statement expressing your educational goals, personal philosophy and motivation for applying for a General Scholarship.
  • A complete list/directory of student organization(s), extra-curricular activities, volunteer and community service experiences.
  • Unofficial UNM Transcript. NOTE: Applicants must have attended UNM for Spring 2017 and be enrolled for Fall 2017 to be eligible for consideration. Applicants scheduled to graduate in Summer 2017 are also eligible for consideration and must provide proof of degree completion.
  • Certificate of Indian Blood and/or Proof of Tribal Enrollment
  • Any additional documentation you feel pertinent to your application.

May 20, 2017 - SOE Summer Engineering Scholarship -UG

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

  • Undergraduate Students in the School of Engineering: Student must be admitted in the UNM School of Engineering at the time of application and must have passed Math 162 (Calculus I) with a letter grade of C or better.
  • Demonstrate Financial Need and Scholastic ability
  • New Mexico Resident (preferred by the major funding source)
  • Registered for summer courses at UNM

June 1, 2017 - 2017-2018 SOE Engineering Scholarship - UG/GR

The School of Engineering (SOE) offers a variety of scholarships to undergraduate students enrolled in any of the SOE majors, including students admitted into the the pre-major engineering program. These scholarships usually supplement any other general scholarship received at the university level (e.g. Lottery, Regents, Presidential, Amigo, UNM Scholars, etc).

The School of Engineering (SOE) has available a few scholarships every year for SOE graduate students. These SOE scholarships could help supplement graduate level fellowships or assistantships (e.g. Reseach/Teaching/Project Assistantships), however, please note that these scholarships are not intended to pay for graduate school.

July 1, 2017 - National Science Foundation (NSF) Scholarship - UG/GR

To be eligible for these scholarships, students must:

  • Be a United States citizen, national, refugee, or permanent resident alien at the time of application;
  • Demostrate financial need, defined for undergraduate students by the US Department of Education rules for need-based Federal financial aid (eligibility determined through a FAFSA application. Students who have questions, please check with the UNM Financial Aid office).
  • Be pursuing a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in at least one of the following disciplines;
      • Computer Science
      • Engineering: including Chemical, Civil, Computer, Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, or Nuclear engineering; and students who have been admitted in the School of Engineering as pre-major (intending to major in Engineering or Computer Science)
      • Transfer students from two-year colleges to UNM or High School students admitted to the SOE (based on their ACT/SAT or AP scores) are also eligible as long as they are pursuing one of the above majors.
  • Be enrolled full-time (a minimum of 12 credit hours) in any of the above fields during the semester receiving the scholarship; and,
  • Demonstrate academic potential or ability by having a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
