The commitments listed below provide a general overview of the expectations for all AISS Ambassadors. Ambassadors that successfully complete all commitments and maintain the minimum academic eligibility requirements (2.5 cumulative GPA & full-time enrollment) will receive a $3,000 academic year scholarship.

• Commit one (1) Full Academic Year (Fall 2024 & Spring 2025)
  1. Attend all AISS Ambassador Meetings on Wednesdays from 2:30pm to 4:00pm

•  Fall 2024 - Each Ambassador is required to:
  1. Complete at least one (1) volunteer hour at a minimum of three (3) different AISS outreach/recruitment/volunteer events
  2. Attend one (1) financial aid advisement appointment with AISS
     • Due by Friday, September 20, 2024
  3. Identify five (5) scholarships for Spring 2025
  4. Attend one (1) AISS Student Success Workshop
  5. Attend one (1) UNM event (non-AISS event)
  6. Attend one (1) UNM wellness event/workshop (non-AISS event)

• Spring 2025 - Each Ambassador is required to:
  1. Complete at least one (1) volunteer hour at a minimum of three (3) different outreach/recruitment/volunteer events
  2. Attend one (1) financial aid advisement appointment with AISS
     • Due by Friday, February 14, 2025
  3. Apply for the five (5) scholarships identified in Fall 2024
  4. Apply for one (1) internship/job or submit an updated resume to the Coordinators
     • Due by Tuesday, April 29, 2025
  5. Attend one (1) AISS Student Success Workshop
  6. Attend one (1) UNM Event (a non-AISS event)
  7. Attend one (1) UNM Wellness Event

• AISS Ambassador Program Capstone (Phase 1 & 2)
  1. Phase 1 - Written Statement
  2. Phase 2 - Utilize skills established during the Ambassador Program for the 2025 American Indian Convocation
     • More information on specific date & sign up for slots will open as the program nears

• AISS Outreach & Recruitment events include:
  1. Campus Tours
  2. College Fairs
  3. Community Outreach/Recruitment
  4. School Visits
  5. Student Panels

AISS Ambassadors are required to attend all of the following meetings throughout the 2024-2025 academic year. Additional details will be shared at the first Ambassador Meeting.
