Outstanding American Indian Student Service Awards

American Indian Student Services (AISS) is now accepting nominations for the Outstanding American Indian Student Service Emerging Lobo Award and the Outstanding American Indian Student Service Award. Each award commends students at UNM-Central Campus committed to serving Indigenous communities at large. Recognition is based on applicant accomplishment and achievement in the areas of leadership, participation in campus activities and organizations, academics, and service to Indigenous organizations and tribal communities. Award recipients will be recognized during The University of New Mexico's Annual Recognition Reception on Friday, April 24, 2026.

Outstanding American Indian Student Service Award Eligibility Criteria
  • Current full-time enrollment (12 credit hours undergraduate / 9 credit hours graduate) at The University of New Mexico-Main Campus
  • Current Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate status

Outstanding Emerging Lobo Award Eligibility Criteria - First-Year Students Only
  • First-Year status: must have earned a minimum of 12 credit hours or maximum of 26 credit hours to date at The University of New Mexico-Central Campus
  • Current full-time enrollment (minimum of 12 credit hours) at UNM-Central Campus
